DISCLAIMERS

No warranties are given for accuracy or timelines. Since the posts and pages on this blog are drafts, they do not meet the standards of published litigation guides either. More importantly, the online version of the drafts does not include footnotes to legal authority and other sources (there may be some exceptions); and they reference appellate cases only by the names of the parties, rather than providing a complete citation. If you are looking for opinion snippets and cites, check out the COA.TX (Causes of Action) Blawg instead.
EVOLVING LAW. Statutory law changes as a result of legislative enactments and amendments; the relevant case law as pronounced by the courts of appeals evolves continually; even the rules of procedure are amended from time to time by the Texas Supreme Court, most recently in 2013.

OBSERVATIONS ABOUT DEBT SUIT LITIGATION. Generalizations on this blog are made based on the best available information to the author/author’s sources/contacts, not on rigorous statistical analysis of representative samples, not to mention a universe of cases. There are almost always exceptions. To improve readability, not all generalizations are qualified with such words as typically, normally, or ordinarily.
Caveat surfer. Caveat lector.
Also note that opinions may be expressed here in celebration of freedom of speech, and that they may conflict with those of the courts of appeals or specific justices.
LEGAL LINGO VS PLAIN ENGLISH. Additionally, laymen’s terms are often used in lieu of, or in addition to the technical legal terms and jargon and acronyms used by members of the legal community (lawyers and their support staff, and by judges and court staff). A glossary encompassing both a selection of legal terminology and terms and acronyms that are part and parcel of the legal community’s equivalent of trade jargon will soon be available on a separate page.

COPYRIGHT AND CITING MATERIAL ON THIS BLAWG
The material on this blog is copyrighted and may not be duplicated or otherwise appropriated without the current copyright holder’s permission. Because this is an evolving draft (hence the suffix "beta"), the material should not be cited either, unless accompanied by a link to the unique URL on which the cited text or information appeared. That said, the content on any post or page, is subject to both copy-editing and substantive change at any time, not to mention correction of errors. Editing history will generally not be shown.  Posts, and even their titles may thus change over time, even if the URL stays the same; some posts may be deleted altogether. Additionally, longer posts will probably be broken up into separate posts later, with links to the newer, subordinate posts covering a smaller topic in greater depth and detail.

You may contact the copyright holder through the Blogger profile page.
The assertion of copyright does not include appellate court opinions, court-filed documents and orders, and other public records.
